YAN CABRAL

Yan Cabral

Yan Cabral (born May 13, 1983, in Rio de Janeiro) has been a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt for over 12 years and a professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter since 2007, competing in the lightweight division.

Since he began competing professionally, Yan Cabral quickly built an undefeated 10–0 record in his first four years, without losing a single fight. All of his wins have come by submission, and Cabral has never gone to the third round in any of his fights.

In Rio de Janeiro, Cabral trained with the Nova União team alongside two UFC champions, José Aldo and Renan Barão. In Europe, in addition to training, he is also a coach for the Aranha Association Team. Since 2009, he has spent most of his time in Barcelona, training and teaching at his Aranha Barcelona team, which keeps growing stronger every day.

Aranha Association

Aranha Association is now a key hub for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu worldwide.

Cabral started Jiu-Jitsu in 1995 with his teammate Thier Tavares. He would go to Rio de Janeiro to train and then return to the town where he trained at home with Cabral. In 2000 he moved to Rio de Janeiro and began training with Carlson Gracie. He started MMA in 2003, and in 2004 he joined Nova União.

He later began his career in Europe, where he started teaching in Toulouse with Eric Satge in 2006. At that time, the idea of Aranha Association was born with Satge. He stayed there until February 2009, when he moved to Barcelona, where he took the opportunity to keep expanding the Association. Since then, he has been teaching and sharing his work in many cities across France, Italy, and Spain.

The work is well established, and today the team includes several black belts with multiple European and world titles, such as Eric Satge and Herminio García, among many others. The work continues, the Aranha Association team grows every day, and it currently has affiliates in several cities in France, Spain, Italy, China, Dubai, Russia, and Ukraine.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more than a sport; it’s a way of life.
